For those of you that do not subscribe to our facebook page, I have grouped here our daily snippets from the theme of breathing:
19th October 2011
Breathe… become aware of your breathing, use your diaphragm to gently expland your lungs and lower rib cage outwards (as opposed to your chest or belly), do at least a couple of deep slow breaths and notice how you instantly feel more relaxed, refreshed and clear headed.
20th October 2011
Breathe… to give your body a good clear out of toxins, use 1-4-2 breath. Count naturally as you take a deep breath in, then hold this breath in for 4 times the count of your in-breath, then you release this breath slowly for 2 times the count of your in-breath. So if you count 5 as you breath in, hold it for 20, then exhale for a count of 10. This breath stimulates your lymph system to flow throughout your body and eliminate its collected toxins. Enhance your detox further by gently moving whilst you do the 1-4-2 breath.
21st October 2011
Breathe… we alternate between a dominant nostril throughout the day, that is around every 2-3 hours we will draw more breath in and out of our right nostril than our left, and then it swaps around. There is a link between the dominant nostril and our brain hemispheres, and also our natural energy cycles throughout the day. More on this tomorrow

22nd October 2011
Breathe… here is a yoga exercise based on the nasal cycle called Nadi Sodhana (Alternate Nostril Breathing), used to clean and rejuvenate your body and balance your right and left brain hemisphere bringing creativity and logic together: Use your fingers to close the appropriate nasal passageway during this exercise, DO NOT do this exercise if you have a cold or have any nasal congestion. 1. Inhale through left nostril for count of four. 2. Exhale through right nostril for count of eight. 3. Inhale through right nostril for count of four. 4. Exhale through left nostril for count of eight. Repeat this three times in total, building up daily to a total of seven times.

Breathe… how we breathe is part of our physiology. Using NLP techniques we can change our whole body state and therefore our mind state at any time and breathing is only one part of this. Noticing and remembering how we breathe during different states, can be a way for us to learn how to change our state quickly when needed (imagine being able to be ultra confident at will).
